Online Reporting for Elder Abuse - Coming Soon!

With the many budget constraints on the State of California at the moment, there are also many concerns about being able to report crimes, like elder abuse, in a timely manner.
Thankfully, a new law goes into effect starting January 1, 2012 that will allow counties to use a confidential system via the internet in order to make reports involving elder abuse.

The bill, SB 718, will help provide access for the reporters of elder abuse to quickly submit reports online that are detailed and complete. Therefore, allowing the authorities to deal with these situations more efficiently which will hopefully prevent further abuses from occurring. And at best, possibly saving the life of an elderly person in dire need of help.

The internet system will be secure, confidential, and safe. And it will not create any additional costs to the State of California.

The attorneys at the Law Offices of David A. Shapiro are compassionate, knowledgeable, and able to handle the complexities of elder abuse cases. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you or someone you know has been a victim of elder abuse.
