Joint Guardianship Limitations

As well as having many responsibilities and duties as a joint guardian, your control over the child may come with limits placed on those duties.
In the Order for Appointment of a Guardian, the court may include other conditions and limitations as it sees fit for the necessary care, medical treatment, education and welfare of the child. The judge may make orders that the guardian follow specific visitation schedules between the child and their parent or parents and their siblings. As a general rule, the guardian may not take the child to any unsatisfactory place, unjustifiably confine them, deprive them of receiving medical care, or denying them visits with family and friends.
Of course if the guardian anticipates needing any special powers to accomplish their duties, then these powers must be requested and thoroughly explained in the initial petition for the appointment of the guardian.
