It appears that another high profile claim against the Jackson estate has reached a settlement.
In 2009, Hollywood director John Landis and Producer George Folsey Jr. had sued Michael Jackson's production company, Optimum Productions, claiming they were still owed money from the work they did on the blockbuster music video for Thriller. When Jackson died that same year, they then filed claim against the estate for the $2 million plus debt owed.
Landis also claims that he owns half of the separated rights to the Thriller video which entitles him to rights and profits from adaptations of the video, like staged musicals. While there has not been an as yet to date musical, a deal had been made by Jackson for one to be produced, but it never managed to gain momentum.
The Jackson estate issued a statement saying they had reached an amicable settlement with both parties, however the terms of the settlement are confidential.
