Plan Early To Avoid Challenges Later

Creating a will and other estate plans as early and when as healthy as possible is a great way to avoid the possibly of family members contesting or challenging any part of your plans.

As much as we like to believe that all parents have a healthy relationship with their children, sometimes that is just not the case. And it may be known to everyone in the family and to friends of the family far and wide, but if you don't wish to leave them an inheritance, you should put that down in writing before certain life changing events occur.

For instance, if you should become terminally ill and only create your will within those last few months or weeks it could increase the chances of an excluded person challenging the validity of the will due to your illness. And even though the challenge might ultimately fail in court, it will still take a lot of time and money for the estate to fight the challenge.

Consult with a professional estate litigation Attorney as soon as possible, especially if there are one or more family members that you want to disinherit.
